If there is one thing we can say as we reflect on February 2015, it most definitely came in like a wrecking ball!
I admit that December and January were for the most part disappointing in the snow department. I may have complained a few times over the lack of snow this winter.
Yes, we had snow coverage since before Thanksgiving, but I wanted freshly fallen snow. I wanted the fluffy snowflakes that turned the trees white. I wanted to look out the window and see a Winter Wonderland, not the remnants of an almost forgotten snow.
At the end of January/beginning of February, someone must have heard my complaints and all of that missing snow seemed to find its way to us at almost the same time. Within about a week, we had 3 winter storms that came blowing through and well . . .…I had my snow. XDD
At one point, we had 45 inches of snow coverage in our front yard. The snow banks at our driveway were so high, they began to cover the tree limbs! They were much taller than me, and I won't even discuss the snow banks at some of the parking lots. It was spectacular!
I think we had 5 or 6 named winter storms in February. Absolutely, positively the most exciting February I can remember.
Now February is leaving, and soon my lovely world of white will turn into . . . mud, lots and lots of mud. Mud that will appear harmless, sure, but it will try to take my shoes right off my feet and keep them. Rudeness!
But - oh - what a February to remember. I hope February for next year is taking notes.
