To me, October is kind of the beginning of the Holiday Season as far as decorating. Although I must admit, my Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations are many of the same things. I have very few things that are strictly Halloween. I do like pumpkins though, but pumpkins can be used in a Harvest or Autumn theme, not only Halloween. I have a few pumpkins (one that is even a glitter pumpkin!) but they are just pumpkins, not decorated or painted for Halloween so they can be set out for October decoration and left out for November as well.
The only things I have that I think are strictly Halloween are a few porcelain bears that look like they are dressed for trick-or-treating. When I lived in Georgia, I had a lot (I mean a lot!) of bears, for every holiday. Most of them did not make the trip to Maine, really, I have one Autumn bear, one Christmas bear and then I have a set of, I believe, 5 smaller bears (one is an angel, one is a star, one is a reindeer, one is a Christmas tree, one is a snowman..) Those are my only bears that made it.
This past week, I have set out what few decorations I have, and I have been burning my pumpkin spice candle a bit. It smells wonderful, but it made me wonder, has anyone else decorated for Halloween? Do ya’ll even decorate? Or do you skip and go straight to an Autumn/Harvest theme?
