My name is Gwendolyn Michelle Radcliff
I have 3 boys – ages 19, 17 and my youngest will forever be 27 months and 20 days. My boys, my yorkie, Storm, and I moved to Maine about 5 years ago now from Georgia.
I always tell people we have a zoo – we have 3 dogs; a great dane, a Yorkshire terrier and a dachshund/Chihuahua mix; 4 cats; and we have 4 ferrets - Anna and Elsa are my older sisters. Then we had Baby Groot, who passed this spring but not before meeting Rocket (born February 4th) and then we honored Baby Groot with a Lil Groot (born March 4th). The Yorkie is named Storm, and he is my whole world!
I have always collected rocks and shells. I was the kid that didn’t play on the jungle gym equipment but instead sat on the gravel picking out pretty rocks. I was the kid that carried a bucket with me on the beach, not to build sand castles, but to hold the many seashells I would find.
In early 2015, I was encouraged to start Chelle's Sparkly Corner and I am so happy that I did.
I carry primarily gemstones and seashells, but I also like to have a supply of 'fun' items. I like to offer dragons, copper incense bowls, lighthouses and whatever I find at gem shows that 'speak' to me. We currently have Dragon Claw Sphere Stands created with a pewter claw and wooden base that are incredibly unique! We find many of the shells on Stave Isle off the coast of Maine. I had never seen live sand dollars or star fish; I had never even found whole sand dollars before visiting the island.
In late December of 2017, I had a brachial plexus nerve injury and I ended up needing to come out of transcription completely so now I am working with Chelle's Sparkly Corner full time. It’s been a blessing, and I am grateful for the opportunity. It is a continual learning experience for me!
Gem show season here in the Northeast really gets underway in late March so I look forward to finding the most spectacular gem stone varieties and shapes, natural and polished. When we move more into the summer months, we will hopefully be visiting the island frequently as well so there will be plenty of shells too.
